LogoMy name is James Chilton and I am a 2D/3D artist from Bradford, England. I have recently finished my Games Design course at Huddersfield University. Having been a keen 3D artist for several years now, I started with Google Sketchup in my early teens… going on from there to learn 3DS Max and other key pieces of modelling software.

During my time at Huddersfield University I have held several freelance roles in companies across the globe. Projects I have worked on include WWIIONLINE: Battleground Europe and Verdun.

I spend a great deal of my free time working on personal projects, I am continually looking to better  my skills. Most skills are self-taught and I am always exploring new techniques and new processes that will enable my work to progress.I modify games a great deal and I’ve worked in all aspects of game modelling, be it weapon, character, vehicle or static prop. I am familiar with future technologies, exploring subdivision within DirectX 11 and more. I am a keen learner, and have self-taught many essential skills learning from mistakes and taking vital experience from my freelance work.

I enjoy other things besides 3D. I play Bass Guitar; I have been doing for almost two years and should I need a break from 3D modelling I find it relaxing. I enjoy fishing, drawing and history. In looking to become a game artist, it comes as no surprise that I enjoy gaming, it’s something I will often look to if I need inspiration.
